About

The SquabThe Squab was created by Shane Mac, @shanemacsays, to help people build better careers.  Believing that many people can’t get out of the rut they are in or they just need a little guidance on how to take the next step in their career, the squab offers real, straight forward, creative advice that you don’t learn in the college classroom and you would never hear from the sugar coated career experts we so often hear about.  After he realized that he helped friends and strangers land jobs and get promotions from ideas and advice he had read or tried he thought others could benefit from his advice.  He says that he is no different from anyone else but has just read and learned the right things to help build careers.  Add in a creative mind and you can get some advice tips you don’t hear everyday.  It comes from studying, personal experience, and finding what works to get hired, promoted, or even starting on your own entrepreneurial adventure.

Here at The Squab, we find that thinking about things just a little differently can make all the difference in the world.  It always helps to have a guide that you can ask for help.  The video podcast is for personal opinions, ideas, or advice whereas the blog is for tips, tools, and career networks that can help advance your career.  We believe that you need a little inspiration sometimes to get back on your feet or make that career jump you always wanted and it is always better to ask someone first.  That is what the squab is all about.  Giving personal advice and guidance to anyone who has the courage to ask.  Just head over to the “Ask The Squab” page and hopefully we can guide you to the next step in your career.  Ask us anything, not kidding, anything.  People need inspiration and a different way of seeing something that they might see as a dead end (like the job search or your career can often feel) and that is what we try to do.  If you have advice or would like to build your personal portfolio by writing for The Squab please email us at thesquab@gmail.com. It is a great way to get involved and get exposure to possible employers.

This is not a site for people who want a secret that will make them rich or famous. This is a site for building better careers and better lives, one relationship at a time.
